Stop Underage Drinking Services Project PDF Print E-mail

The Stop Underage Drinking Services Project is an initiative of Mediation Services, Tennessee Technological University/TTU, and WCTE funded by a grant from the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth.

A variety of activities are being implemented to prevent and combat underage drinking including:

  1. Providing services to college aged youth, 18 to 20 years old, including the Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention of College Students/BASICS program and/or mediation as appropriate. Services are designed to help intervene on their drinking by building resiliency factors and reducing risk factors;
  2. Implementing PR strategies that will provide information about the laws and encourage youth to not drink and adults not to supply alcohol to those under 21;
  3. Increasing education and enforcement on campus through material distribution and sobriety check point efforts by TTU police during 3 high usage events to discourage use.
