WCTE PBS digs into its archives to celebrate Tennessee Tech’s Homecoming Weekend by broadcasting homecoming parades from the past along with the 2003 Gardner-Webb University vs. Tennessee Tech University football game. This content will be offered via broadcast on WCTE PBS and streamed on YouTube TV and WCTE’s Facebook page starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 14.
WCTE PBS offers a history of rich content from its archives of Tennessee Tech University’s Homecoming Parades that consist of the Honorary Grand Marshals, beautifully decorated floats, local high school marching bands, Tennessee Tech’s marching band, the passing of the homecoming courts dressed to the nines, and our favorite mascot, Awesome Eagle, all making its way down Dixie Avenue. This year’s archived content will feature parades from the following years: 2003, 2011, 2013, 2014 & 2019.
“I'm so excited we’re able to bring our viewers across central Tennessee this WCTE archived content from Tennessee Tech’s Homecomings in years past! As a graduate of Tennessee Tech University and a member of the TTU Alumni Board of Directors, the tradition of Tennessee Tech Homecoming is so exciting for me and something I look forward to year after year,” said Becky Magura, WCTE PBS’s President & CEO.
Due to the challenges of COVID-19, Tennessee Tech University is finding unique ways to celebrate this Homecoming weekend and WCTE Central TN PBS is proud to be part of that celebration, as we have for decades.
