WCTE PBS is Under Threat -- And We Need You in This Fight!
The White House is expected to propose a plan that would take back federal funding already approved by Congress — and WCTE PBS is directly in the crosshairs and could lose 40% of its funding if we don't act now.
If this happens, it would be the most serious threat to federal public media funding in decades.
This isn’t just about dollars. This is about keeping WCTE PBS and other small stations on the air — especially in rural communities where public media is a lifeline. It’s about protecting trusted local storytelling, life-saving emergency alerts, proven educational resources, and the vital community services we all depend on.
Congress will have just 45 days to act once the proposal is released — and if it doesn’t pass, the funding is restored. But we can’t afford to sit back and hope for the best.
Here’s how you can help:
Rally your network – Talk to your friends, family, colleagues, and community members. Let them know what’s at stake.
Get ready to raise your voice – When the proposal drops, we’ll need an immediate response. We need you talking to your elected officials in Congress, writing and emailing. You need to let your voice be heard!
Stay connected – Be part of the grassroots movement to stop these cuts in their tracks.
WCTE PBS belongs to all of us. Let’s stand together to protect it.
Because when local voices are silenced, communities lose so much more than just a signal.
Be ready. Be loud. Be part of the fight.
