Valentine's Day is a great time to celebrate love, friendship, and kindness with family and friends. Spend time together with your loved ones by crafting and creating! 

While doing so, talk about how being kind and being a good friend is important. For young children, this might sound like asking, "It's nice to share with friends! Can you please share your blocks?" or saying, "It's nice to help our friends. Let's help our friends clean up before we go home." As older children move past the “playmate” stage of friendship, they begin to form relationships based on mutual interests, support, and trust. Ask your child what they like to do with their friends and what they like to talk about — you might be surprised!

Throughout this school year, WCTE Education has had the chance to visit and do fun activities with several of the Putnam County Voluntary Pre-K classrooms.

We have read stories, screened episodes of PBS KIDS shows, and done arts and crafts activities.
